IRONKIDS 2025, an annual youth running competition, was staged yesterday, with the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) returning as its exclusive sponsor.
Held near Reef Island, in association with IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, the event welcomed young athletes from across the kingdom for a day of sport, empowerment and community engagement.
With participants aged three to 17 competing in age-specific races ranging from a 100-metre sprint to 1.5km challenge, IRONKIDS highlighted the spirit of perseverance and the importance of early physical activity. Each child was awarded a finisher’s medal, honouring their individual effort and dedication.

As part of its ongoing commitment to inclusion, NBB invited children from the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society, Alia Rehabilitation Centre and Smile Initiative to take part in a dedicated IRONKIDS race. The initiative offered a joyful and supportive experience for all, reflecting NBB’s values of diversity and inclusivity. The bank also brought back the NBB IRONKIDS
Village, a dynamic family-friendly zone featuring engaging games, entertainment and activities around financial education.
The space was themed around the Yalla Family Account, NBB’s youth-centric banking product, with children enjoying interactive challenges, giveaways and a chance to open their own Yalla accounts on-site with exclusive IRONKIDS rewards.
NBB’s sponsorship of IRONKIDS 2025 reflects its wider Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) mandate to support youth development, promote health and wellbeing and strengthen community ties.
The bank says it remains committed to empowering younger generations to lead active, confident and financially aware lives.
