Around 40 individuals dressed as Santa Claus and elves staged a dramatic grocery store robbery in Montreal, walking out with carts full of goods.
The group, later identified as activists from Les Soulèvements du Fleuve (The River’s Uprisings), posted a video of the incident online, claiming responsibility.
They claimed that the stolen groceries were redistributed to people in need, though they did not share footage of the distribution.
In another post, the group argued that 'retail is theft' and said: "A handful of businesses are holding our vital needs hostage. They continue to suffocate the population, siphoning as much money as possible simply because they can. For us, this is theft — and they are the thieves.”
Store owners were not amused by the incident and reported it to Montreal police.
As of now, no arrests have been made.
