Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa chaired the seventh BOC board meeting via video conference.
Shaikh Khalid commended the achievements of Bahrain’s sports teams in 2025 across various international events.
He also expressed pride at the successful hosting of the third Asian Youth Games in October, highlighting Bahrain’s strong position in organising major sports events.
Shaikh Khalid welcomed all members and commended their efforts, reviewing the agenda items, including approval of the sixth board meeting minutes, the 2025 financial and administrative reports, and the schedule of hosting and international participation for 2026.
The meeting also discussed the kingdom’s hosting of the 2027 Arab Games.
Shaikh Khalid directed the board to begin early preparations for the Games and also to prepare for participation in the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The board approved holding the third annual graduation ceremony for the Bahrain Olympic Academy programmes in the first quarter of 2026 and organising the fifth edition of the Olympiad by the end of March 2026.
It was also decided to set dates for Bahrain to host the 38th meeting of GCC Olympic Committee Presidents, the 108th executive office meeting, and the general assembly meeting of the Olympic committee.
