TENNIS – Jordan’s Amir Jaber won the singles title after a straight-sets victory over Egypt’s Hassan Shoaib, 6-3, 6-4, in the final of the Arab Juniors Under-16 (U16) Tennis Championships, hosted by the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF).
Bahrain’s Ahmed Al Sayed and Tunisia’s Laith Ben Achour shared third place.
The winners were crowned by BTF president Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, alongside officials from the Arab and Bahrain tennis federations.
Shaikh Abdulaziz congratulated the finalists and said hosting the championship reflects the kingdom’s commitment to supporting and developing tennis in the Arab world.
In the doubles competition, Egyptians Youssef Mourid and Hassan Shoaib won the title after defeating Tunisia’s Ali Ben Mahmoud and Laith Ben Achour 7-5, 2-6, 10-2.
