The Bahraini KHK team has made the kingdom proud by winning the Al Maktoum Traditional Rowing Cup in Dubai.
Competing against some of the region’s finest teams, KHK delivered an outstanding performance that showcased skill, endurance and teamwork.
The team – under Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa – was captained by Ahmed Al Busmait.

The contestants were crowned champions of the competition’s 29th edition in the 30ft boat category following a strong performance in the qualifying rounds and the final race, which took place on Saturday.

The achievement extends the team’s distinguished record in the championship, having previously won the title in 2020 and 2021.
Held by Dubai International Marine Club, the Al Maktoum Traditional Rowing Cup holds a special place in the calendar of maritime sports, given its historical and cultural significance.
It plays a vital role in preserving maritime heritage and fostering a spirit of competition among participating teams, all within an atmosphere that blends authenticity with sporting enthusiasm.
The 30ft traditional rowing races were introduced in the club’s 1996-1997 season.
