Bahrain welcomed 2026 in spectacular style last night with dazzling fireworks lighting up the kingdom’s skies, visible from eight landmark locations.
His Majesty King Hamad exchanged cables of congratulations on the advent of the New Year, with leaders of Arab, Islamic and friendly countries.
He wished them abundant health and happiness and their countries and peoples further progress and prosperity.
The King prayed for security, peace and prosperity for all countries and peoples in the world during the New Year.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, exchanged similar cables of congratulations.
The grand display of fireworks marked the finale of the latest season of Celebrate Bahrain, the annual cultural festival organised by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.
As the countdown to midnight began, residents and citizens excitedly turned to the skies to watch the fireworks, which have become an annual tradition in the kingdom and around the world.
A drone show at Bahrain Bay also amped up the excitement for the scores of spectators who attended the much-awaited event.
