Vinicius Vargas got the ball rolling with an early strike in the fifth minute, followed by Rodrigo Yuri’s penalty kick goal in the 15th. Al Riffa now boasts 21 points, sitting pretty in second place, while Malkiya stays fourth with 18 points.
In another thrilling match at the late Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa stadium, Al Najma edged Bahrain Club 2-1 in a nail-biter. Hussein Al Rifai put Al Najma ahead in the 48th minute, but Gabriel da Silva levelled for Bahrain Club in the 82nd. Cue Saud Al Hazza’s stoppage-time heroics as Al Najma snatched a dramatic win at 90+6. Al Najma now has 12 points, while Bahrain Club remains stuck on six.
