Bahrain’s main and largest public hospital is operating at full readiness with the activation of emergency medical protocols in light of the regional situation.
Government Hospitals has its team of medics, including nurses and specialised staff, on standby, ready to be mobilised to any area across the country.
“We have a disaster recovery plan that is being reviewed periodically to ensure that we are ready to receive any patient,” said Intensive Care Unit (ICU) head – Disaster and Emergency Committee head, Government Hospitals, Dr Sanaa Al Khawaja.
“We have to make sure we are continuously providing our regular daily service to the patients at the same time.”
She added that emergency medical protocols were activated on Saturday to ensure nurses, medics and physicians are prepared to be deployed across the country, if needed.
“The Intensive Care Unit, which is one of the most important areas, is prepared to receive patients and we have enough availability of beds,” she added.
Earlier yesterday, Government Hospitals reported that the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) received four injured cases following the Iranian attacks.
Three of the injuries were minor, and the patients were treated in accordance with medical protocols before being discharged.
The fourth case was described as moderate.
The patient has been placed under medical observation until the condition stabilises, with specialised medical teams continuing to monitor the status.
