Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Yasser Humaidan emphasised that the kingdom’s electricity and water production, transmission, and distribution systems are operating at full readiness, ensuring stable supplies and uninterrupted essential services.
This came during an inspection visit to a water desalination plant that sustained material damage following a drone attack carried out during the recent Iranian attack.
The minister reviewed operational processes, production systems, and monitoring and control operations, as well as measures taken to address the impact of the incident and maintain supply stability.
Minister Humaidan said water supplies remain unaffected and production continues as normal, while specialised technical teams are assessing the damage and carrying out necessary repairs.
He commended the efforts of national personnel in the electricity and water sector for maintaining service stability, as well as the rapid response of civil defence teams and relevant authorities in securing the site and ensuring public safety.
