‘When the sky was full of smoke and ashes,
Then we came to know that War has been announced.
The noise of bullets and cannons all around,
Was telling the story of apocalypse strongly.
Why do these wars happen?
In which both, our own and strangers lose.
All rules are broken.
Even after winning, when hands are empty,
Like Diwali without light.
When God also created man,
He would not have thought that his own creation
Would be destroyed by him.
In the past, war brings great hardships,
When country, race, heritage, everything is at stake.
If the war has to be ended,
So we have to give up pride, greed, and anger.
The character has to be brightened with
Satisfaction, forgiveness, kindness, and simplicity.
There should be a wish for the prosperity of the
Other country in the mind of one country,
There should be a feeling of mutual goodwill among the leaders.
If war has to be stopped,
So we have to learn to bend like ripe trees.
“The one who bowed down, won”
Always remember this thing.
Stop fighting to get more, land, and people
Get up, meet and move forward to save nature.’
I was inspired to write this poem by my grandfather, a retired Army Colonel. He shared many heart-aching stories about war. As I am a peace-loving person, I want that all leaders of the world should come together, forgetting their differences, and to work together for the betterment of society.
Let peace prevail on earth.
