Transportation and Telecommunications Minister and King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC) board of trustees chairman Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa affirmed that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, and guided by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues its steadfast approach of upholding humanitarian values and consolidating peace and the principles of coexistence and tolerance, which reflects Bahrain’s active presence on the international stage.
The chairman highlighted the royal vision, which has launched distinguished initiatives that serve humanity and support efforts to strengthen peace and international co-operation for the benefit of all.
On the occasion of the International Day of Conscience, Dr Shaikh Abdulla said the global conscience is facing a true test in light of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and countries of the region.
These attacks, which target civilians, vital infrastructure, and civilian facilities, constitute a flagrant violation of all international conventions.
He called upon the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by activating United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 and to ensure the immediate cessation of these unjustified attacks that threaten regional security and international peace.
He highlighted that the vision of His Majesty has gone beyond providing humanitarian aid and support across various domains to call for international solidarity on multiple levels. He referred to the kingdom’s hosting of interfaith and intercultural dialogue conferences, the launch of the Bahrain Declaration for the protection of religious freedoms, and the introduction of pioneering awards and initiatives aimed at rejecting hate speech and racism. He emphasised that these efforts demonstrate the universal and comprehensive royal approach for the growth and benefit of all humanity.
Dr Shaikh Abdulla added that this international occasion carries Bahrain’s message to the world in promoting peace and development, based on the understanding that conscience is the cornerstone of building safe and prosperous societies.
