BASKETBALL – THE best-of-five championship series of the 2025-26 Zain Bahrain Basketball League between defending champions Muharraq and Manama will tip off on Wednesday with the highly anticipated first game.
The finals schedule was released yesterday by the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA).
Muharraq are looking to retain the crown and emerge as national champions for the fifth time in history, while Manama will be aiming to add to their record 25 titles.
Muharraq booked their berth in the title-decider after sweeping past Al Ahli with dominant performances in three games in their Golden Square semi-final match-up. Manama, on the other hand, won in four contests against Al Najma in their semis battles, which just concluded Saturday night.
Game two is scheduled for Saturday this weekend, while game three will be held on Tuesday next week. Games four and five, if needed, will take place on April 17 and 20, respectively.
Muharraq have been dominant against Manama all season long – winning all five of their meetings to date.
Muharraq already claimed a pair of trophies against their long-time rivals, including the 2025-26 Khalifa Bin Salman Cup last month and the curtain-raising Bahrain Super Cup in November of last year.
The two sides also met thrice during the regular season of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League, with Muharraq taking all three fixtures.
