CYCLING – MATEJ Mohoric claimed a top 10 finish for Team Bahrain Victorious yesterday in the 110th Ronde van Vlaanderen, also known as the Tour of Flanders, in Belgium.
The one-day UCI World Tour road race, which is the second Monument of the international cycling season, featured a distance of 278.2 kilometres, starting from Antwerp and finishing in Oudenaarde.
A Monument is one of five classic races generally considered to be the oldest, hardest, longest, and most prestigious one-day events in men’s road cycling. The other Monuments of the 2026 campaign are Paris-Roubaix in France on April 12, Liege-Bastogne-Liege in Belgium on April 26, and Il Lombardia in Italy on October 10.
Mohoric was classified eighth overall yesterday after completing the ride four-and-a-half minutes behind winner Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates-XRG.
Alec Segaert followed Mohoric as Bahrain Victorious’s second-best finisher in 15th. Kamil Gradek came 38th, Alessandro Borgo was 45th, and Matevz Govekar ranked 89th, while Zak Erzen did not finish.
