MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport get their title-defence underway today in the 2026 season of the British GT Championship.
Last year’s GT3 teams’ champions will be looking to hold on to their crown, beginning with the series’ opening round at Silverstone Circuit in the UK from today to Sunday.
2 Seas will be hitting the track in the meeting with a three-car entry. They are to be spearheaded by the Pro-Am pairing of Kevin Tse and Ben Green in their #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, who will be racing alongside the Silver-Am duo of Aaron Walker and a yet-to-be-confirmed partner in 2 Seas’ #15 contender.
Meanwhile, the star tandem of Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss – last season’s GT3 drivers’ champions who have moved on to compete with 2 Seas over the full calendar of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe – are making a one-off return to the championship in their #1 Mercedes-AMG.
The meeting gets underway today with a pair of test sessions – the first starting at 3.25pm and the next at 6.25pm, both Bahrain time. An hour-long free practice will then be held tomorrow from 11.30am, to be followed by pre-qualifying at 2.15pm and then qualifying from 5.45pm. That will set the stage for Sunday’s season-opening three-hour race, the Silverstone 500, scheduled to flag off at 3pm, Bahrain time.
The Silverstone 500 is the first of eight rounds on the British GT’s 2026 calendar. Rounds two and three are set for May 23 to 25 at Oulton Park, round four on June 20 and 21 at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, rounds five and six on August 15 and 16 at Snetterton Circuit, round seven on September 5 and 6 at Donington Park, and then round eight on September 26 and 27 at Brands Hatch.
