Municipalities and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak yesterday conducted a field visit to review progress and implementation phases of the A’ali Promenade development project in the Northern Governorate.
He highlighted the ongoing commitment to advancing infrastructure projects across Bahrain, including the development and maintenance of promenades, parks, public gardens and coastal areas, in line with the kingdom’s broader developmental objectives.
He noted that the A’ali Promenade project is a key initiative in the Northern Governorate due to its strategic location and the range of municipal services it provides, with full development expected to be completed in the second half of this year.
Also in attendance were Municipal Affairs Under-Secretary Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; Northern Governorate Municipal Council chairman Dr Sayed Shubbar Al Wedaie; Northern Governorate Municipality director-general Mohammed Saad Al Sehli; and Municipal Council member representing the Sixth District Abdullah Abdulhameed Ashoor.
Dr Al Wedaie described the promenade as a vital community facility attracting residents and visitors, emphasising that the project responds to public demand for comprehensive sports and recreational amenities.
Mr Ashoor underlined its importance for providing a safe and equipped environment for physical and leisure activities.
Development work includes resurfacing the promenade with asphalt, maintaining shaded structures and sanitation facilities, enhancing lighting, installing security cameras, upgrading playground areas, and intensifying landscaping to create an integrated environment for visitors.
