Volvo Cars Bahrain has launched its largest over-the-air software update in the company’s history, delivering a completely redesigned in-car experience to millions of drivers worldwide, including customers in Bahrain.
The update introduces Volvo Car UX, a new interface built on the Android Automotive operating system with Google services as standard.
Designed around how drivers use their cars, the new layout places the most frequently used features such as maps, media, and phone directly on the home screen, significantly reducing the number of taps needed to get things done.
For plug-in hybrid drivers, switching between hybrid and full electric power is now simple. Drive Modes, including Pure electric mode, are available directly from the home screen with a single tap.
Motorcity’s chief strategy officer Ghassan Freiwat said the company is ‘excited to bring this update directly’ to their customers in Bahrain.
“This is about making the driving experience simpler and more enjoyable, and it is a testament to how that experience continues to evolve, delivered seamlessly to our customers,” he added.
The update is available free of charge on eligible Volvo models equipped with Google built-in, dating back to 2020.
It also lays the groundwork for Google Gemini, Volvo’s upcoming conversational artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, expected to arrive on the same eligible vehicles later this year.
