GOLF – RASHED Al Qutami edged out Abdulla Al Jowher to win the 18-hole Stableford competition at Awali Golf Club (AGC) over the weekend.
Al Qutami overcame windy conditions and registered two birdies and a number of pars, but also had three bogeys, en route to shooting 37 points.
Al Jowher started off hole 10 with bogeys and some pars, but later on in his round kicked it up a gear to also finish on 37 points, but it was not enough to take the victory as Al Qutami prevailed on countback with his better back nine.
Salah Musbah Al Kaabi finished third on 35 points, narrowly beating Abdulrahim Fakhroo who was fourth, also on 35 points.
Fifth through seventh, respectively, were Benedikt Schwerm, Nathan Prince, and Daniel Guillaume, each scoring 34 points.
