Parliament paid tribute to Bahrain’s media community on Bahraini Press Day, marked yesterday, praising journalists and media institutions for their vital role in defending the kingdom, informing the public, and strengthening unity and social cohesion.
National Assembly and Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam issued a statement issued on behalf of MPs. He congratulated His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, commending their continued support for the media sector and responsible freedom of opinion and expression.
Parliament expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of Press and media institutions and all those working across the sector, recognising their professional and objective contributions as a true mirror of society.
The statement underscored that Bahrain’s reputable Press has proven its distinguished standing and its essential role in safeguarding the nation, informing the public, promoting parliamentary culture, and strengthening national unity and societal cohesion.
MPs also praised the role of the Information Ministry, the National Communication Centre, and the Bahrain Journalists Association for their continued support of the media landscape and wished all media professionals success in serving the kingdom.
Earlier, Mr Al Musallam and Parliament’s secretary-general Mohammed Al Sissi Al Buainain had posted messages on the official Parliament website and social media platforms to mark the occasion.
