GOLF – HUSSAIN Salem emerged as overall winner while Nasser Yaqoob Saleh clinched the medal in the final competition of the season at Awali Golf Club. Salem showed his great skills as he shot three under his handicap to card a net 67.
His gross score was 73, and it made Saleh play his very best to be one shot better with a gross 72 to capture the medal. Jasper Meinema and Mohamed Ali Al Kowari finished in first and second, respectively, in division one after both registered scores of net 72. Abdulla Mubarak Al Jowher took division two with a net 69, while Anurag Bajaj was the runner-up on net 72.
Division three was won by Chaitanya Kodange with a net 74 score, while Paul McLean came second on net 75. The prizes were handed out by tournament director Rashed Al Qutami and Awali Golf Club captain Steve Newall.
