A two-month-old infant was hospitalised yesterday for smoke inhalation, and four others were rescued after a fire broke out in a multi-storey residential building in Bani Jamra in the early hours of the morning.
According to the Interior Ministry, officers at the scene brought the blaze under control and an investigation has been launched to determine its cause.
Meanwhile, Civil Defence teams responded to a gas leak explosion caused by a stove at a house in Jurdab. According to the Interior Ministry, the incident resulted in a woman sustaining injuries. She was transported by the National Ambulance to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
