One of the oldest running groups in Bahrain recently participated in a social run showing solidarity for the kingdom and its leadership.
Bahrain Social Runners (BSR) took part in the ‘Ahd wa Walaa’ (Loyalty and Allegiance) event, organised by Run4All in honour of His Majesty King Hamad.
With a legacy dating back to the 1970s, BSR’s participation came as a gesture of loyalty and support for His Majesty, in endorsement of all measures aimed at protecting the nation and preserving its stability and security.
Originally established as part of Bahrain Road Runners, BSR was founded by a group of Bahraini sports enthusiasts led by Emad Almoayyed and Tawfiq Mohammadi.
Since its formation, the group has played an important role in promoting healthy lifestyles, community engagement and the spirit of sportsmanship across Bahraini society.
BSR members regularly participate in races organised by Bahrain Road Runners, with many runners securing podium finishes on numerous occasions.
The group has also proudly represented Bahrain in prestigious international marathons, including the London Marathon, Paris Marathon, Berlin Marathon and Boston Marathon.
