HANDBALL – Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) president Ali Issa Ishaqi expressed his great thanks and gratitude to Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and BOC president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his generous patronage of the final of the 2025-26 Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League, held Tuesday night at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town and won by Barbar against Al Ahli.
Ishaqi also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to GSA deputy chairman and Bahrain Combat Sports Council president Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa for attending the contest, along with BOC vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Asian Handball Federation president Bader Mohammed Al Theyab, and other high-ranking officials.
Ishaqi congratulated Barbar on winning the title for the seventh time in league history.
He said that the championship was achieved thanks to the efforts of Barbar’s board, headed by Dr Faisal Al Shuwaikh, and the tireless work of the technical and administrative staff.
He praised the outstanding levels presented by the team throughout the season.
Ishaqi also lauded Ahli for the performance of their players throughout this campaign, and added that second place does not diminish their efforts.
The BHF chief noted that the atmosphere in the final was outstanding, with a large audience attendance from inside and outside the kingdom.
He praised the cooperation shown by all parties and the sportsmanship that prevailed in the match from both clubs.
Ishaqi also expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the entities that supported this past handball season, represented by the Ministry of Interior, the GSA, the BOC, all sponsors, Bahrain Sports Channel, and media outlets, stressing that the concerted efforts had a great impact on its success.
