KUWAIT CITY: Kuwaiti authorities have arrested a suspect linked to an armed robbery at a currency exchange branch in the financial hub, where approximately KD 21,000 was stolen.
According to the Interior Ministry, the suspect, identified as a Filipino national, was tracked down and arrested on June 3 following intensive investigations and search operations by security teams.

The robbery occurred when a masked individual entered the exchange office carrying what appeared to be a weapon, later found to be fake, along with a container suspected to contain petrol. The suspect threatened and assaulted several employees before gaining access to a restricted staff area and stealing cash in various currencies.
Security personnel responded immediately after receiving the report and used advanced investigative techniques to identify and apprehend the suspect within a short period.
The ministry praised the efficiency of its security forces and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public safety, stressing that anyone attempting to threaten the country's security will face strict legal action.
