An event aimed at promoting today’s International Day of Yoga, observed annually on June 21, was held by the Thattai Hindu Community at the Shrinathji Shri Krishna Temple’s THMC Auditorium in Manama.
It witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees, yoga practitioners, senior citizens and community members of all ages.
Programmes were conducted by Bahrain-based certified yoga professionals Nilesh and Jyoti Bhatia, who guided participants through a series of traditional yoga asanas, followed by Pranayama and meditation practices.
This year’s celebration also emphasised the role of yoga in promoting healthy ageing. Participants were encouraged to adopt yoga as a lifelong practice that helps enhance flexibility, balance, strength and mental resilience, enabling individuals to maintain, as its supporters claim, an active and healthy lifestyle as they age.
