MOTORSPORT – Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport captured pole position on the road last night but later lost it due to a technical infringement for today’s fourth round of the British GT Championship 2026, being held at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
2 Seas’ Kevin Tse and Ben Green put their number 18 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo at the top of the combined qualifying timesheet with a time of four minutes 37.065 seconds, lapping 0.9 seconds faster than the rest of the field.
But after failing the post-qualifying ride height test, they were demoted to the end of the grid while Orange Racing by JMH’s Simon Orange and Marcus Clutton were promoted to pole in their number 67 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.
Tse was in the car for the first session and he topped the timesheet with a 2:19.416 lap. Green then followed suit with a 2:17.649 effort in the second session.
Meanwhile, 2 Seas’ other crew of Ian Loggie and Aaron Walker will also start from the back of the grid today after only setting a time in yesterday’s opening qualifying session.
Loggie was classified eighth in the first runs with a quickest lap of 2:23.007, but Walker was unable to set a time in session two. Today’s sole two-hour race is scheduled for a 3.20pm flag-off, Bahrain time.
