Nearly 400 low-income workers attended an event aimed at boosting their morale and raising awareness about support systems available to them.
Organised by the Indian Community Welfare Association (ICWA) on Friday at the Indian Club in Manama, Summer Fest 2026 brought together labourers from across the kingdom.
Co-ordinated by Dilip Bhatia and Althea D’Souza, the event featured a variety of games, sports activities, dancing, and singing performances by the workers, along with a laughter yoga session conducted by R Chinnasamy.
Winners in various competitions were awarded prizes. Spot quiz competitions with attractive prizes also formed part of the festivities.
Workers celebrating their birthdays during the month participated in a cake-cutting ceremony, attended by Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) partnerships and outreach director Fahad Al Binali.
Labour Ministry senior occupational safety engineer Hussain Al Hussaini was also in attendance, alongside ICWA members and volunteers. The event concluded with the distribution of goodie bags and dinner packets to all participants.
