Jeddah reinforced its status as a leading sports hub by hosting major competitions, including the Spanish Super Cup final at King Abdullah Sports City, where Barcelona defeated Real Madrid before more than 60,000 spectators.
Jeddah also hosted the final stages of the AFC Champions League Elite 2026, won by Al-Ahli Saudi FC in front of over 58,000 fans. Furthermore, Jeddah hosted the fourth and fifth rounds of the 2026 Formula E World Championship at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, attracting large crowds and demonstrating world-class organisational capabilities.
Jeddah is set to host several major sporting events in 1448 AH, including the Professional Fighters League (PFL) Championship, the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, and additional motorsport competitions, while preparations continue for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. These events further strengthen the city’s role as a global sports destination.
