Life has truly come full circle today. As an Asian School Bahrain alumna, it is an honour for me to have interviewed Ms Mammen or, as we know her, ‘Molly ma’am’, one last time.
Incidentally, she taught me the English subject when I was 15, planting a seed that would later burst open and blossom into a passion for journalism.
As I write this story, I am fondly reminded of my many golden memories with her – being motivated to pursue writing outside of academic projects, being taught the dos and don’ts of English grammar and, of course, being pulled up for the times I was up to no good, however, gently and patiently.
I will always be grateful to Molly ma’am for making me feel seen as a student and a person – a sentiment that I have no doubt my peers, as well as seniors and juniors share. I wish her all the best for her next adventure – onwards and upwards!
