Female members of Bahrain Odia Samaj came together in Manama to mark the Raja Festival, which honours womanhood, celebrates the fertility of Mother Earth and welcomes monsoon season.
Originally from the Indian state of Odisha, the festival pays tribute to nature and is based on the traditional belief that Mother Earth takes a period of rest before the sowing season begins.
The participants wore traditional attire and took part in cultural activities.
