Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and chairman of the “Ma’an” (Together) Committee Against Violence and Addiction, launched the Ma’an Digital Summer Programme during a visit to the Ma’an Research and Training Centre.
The launch was attended by Ali Ahmed Amini, Director of the Crime Prevention Directorate and Director of the Ma’an Programme, along with officials responsible for implementing the initiative.
During the visit, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman reviewed the programme’s activities, including an interactive educational initiative based on the Roblox platform, which uses digital learning environments and educational games to promote security awareness and positive behaviour among students through engaging, age-appropriate learning methods.
He also received a briefing on the programme’s implementation, training stages and interactive activities, which are delivered in a safe digital environment designed to encourage experiential learning and equip participants with the skills to navigate technological and online challenges responsibly.
The programme reflects the committee’s efforts to harness digital platforms and game-based learning to strengthen preventive awareness among young people, while promoting innovative approaches to community education and reinforcing positive values.
The Roblox-based activities are designed to encourage safe and responsible engagement with digital environments, raise awareness of the risks associated with negative online behaviour, and promote cooperation, respect for others, sound decision-making, creative thinking and problem-solving through simulation-based learning.
At the conclusion of the visit, Shaikh Hisham commended those overseeing the programme for introducing innovative initiatives that support the development of awareness programmes, stressing the importance of continuing to enhance preventive initiatives and maximise their community impact through programmes that combine knowledge, technology and direct engagement with students.
