The Kuwaiti army has announced that women can now enlist for military service in the country through the volunteer program.
In a press statement, the Kuwaiti army announced that women will now be able to register for enlistment, provided they follow the following:
- They must be Kuwaiti
- They must be over 21 but under 26 years of age
- They must be taller than 150cm
- They must be physically fit
- They must have no criminal record of any kind
- They must not have another job
- They must have a diploma of any kind in Kuwait
The move comes as part of new initiatives taken by Kuwait to incorporate women in military roles and comes just a month after the very first batch of Kuwaiti female army officers took the oath.
