A walkathon and loyalty pledge signing ceremony was organised by the Kannada Sangha Bahrain (KSB), where a 1km-long Bahraini flag was also unveiled.
Hundreds of Indian expatriates and their families came to Water Garden, Gufool to declare allegiance to His Majesty King Hamad, the Royal Family and Bahrain.
The event started with a pledge signing and a display of the 1,000-metre-long flag, after which participants took part in a 2km walkathon.
According to KSB president Ajith Bangera, the flag took 15 days to sew together by four local tailors, and was 3 metres wide, making the fabric used a total of 3,000 square metres.
“It was a heartfelt expression of solidarity, gratitude, and loyalty to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its leadership,” he told the GDN.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by KSB general secretary Ram Prasad Ammenadka, thanking members, volunteers and media partners, as well as event sponsors Al Hilal Hospital and Awal Dairy.
