The Indian Community Welfare Association continued its annual summer awareness campaign for the fourth week by distributing water, beverages and fruits to labourers at a Riffa worksite.
The Thirst Quenchers 2026 initiative backs the Labour Ministry’s efforts to ensure a safe working environment during the sweltering summer months. This year’s event is supported by the ministry, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the International Organisation for Migration.
Around 460 workers took part in the event.
As in previous years, the Bohra community and volunteers continue to show support for this project. Launched in 2016, the Thirst Quenchers summer awareness campaign is now in its 11th consecutive year.
The campaign runs in line with the ministry’s summer safety regulations in force from June 15 to August 31, aimed at ensuring safe working conditions for labourers exposed to extreme temperatures.
