Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday met outgoing British Ambassador Alastair Long and discussed the strategic partnership between the two nations, particularly in policing.
Police chief Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan attended the meeting.
The minister underscored the importance of further strengthening co-operation and exchanging expertise.
He noted the United Kingdom’s important role, alongside other countries, in supporting the foundations of regional and international security.
General Shaikh Rashid expressed his appreciation for the ambassador’s efforts and his valuable contribution to further strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations.
The meeting also reviewed security co-operation programmes and their role in advancing efforts in support of the shared interests of the two countries.
Works Minister Ibrahim Al Hawaj separately met Ambassador Long and affirmed the shared commitment to further strengthening the long-standing ties, particularly in infrastructure.
He also commended the ambassador’s efforts in enhancing relations and wished him success in his future duties.
