BASKETBALL – International 3x3 basketball teams Hangzhou from China and Seef from Bahrain are back in action tonight as they headline the field in the Bahrain Summer Quest 2026 – a high-profile competition sanctioned by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
The event will be played at Sports City 26 in Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB), and it will feature nine outfits, according to the teams’ list published on the tournament website.
Hangzhou and Seef are to be joined by Bahraini 3x3 teams Bahrain A, Bahrain B, Askar, Cedar Squad, Amwaj, and Jokers, along with Portlan from Saudi Arabia.
All the aforementioned squads also took part in the Bahrain Summer Lite Quest 2026, held on Tuesday night at EWB and won by Hangzhou.
They beat Seef 21-18 in the final game and, in taking the title, punched their ticket to the Phoenix Challenger in the US, set for September 19 and 20 as part of this year’s Fiba 3x3 World Tour.
Tonight’s Bahrain Summer Quest 2026 will be a qualifier for the Debrecen Masters in Hungary, set for August 29 and 30 as a top-tier stop on this year’s Fiba 3x3 World Tour.
The world tour is the premier street basketball series under Fiba featuring tournaments of various levels held around the world.
Masters events are at the highest level followed by Challengers – both of which are fed by qualifiers, which include Super Quest, Quest, and Lite Quest events.
Hangzhou will once again be hitting the half-court with the quartet of Bahrainis Mohammed Ghazwan and Milos Supica, and Serbians Aleksandar Topalovic and Goran Vidovic.
Seef will this time play without top man Austin Ajukwa, who is replaced by Naser Alanzoor to join Elyas Younes, Isa Jasim, and Omran Albanna.
Both Hangzhou and Seef play on the 2026 circuit of the Fiba 3x3 World Tour with varying line-ups.
Tonight’s Bahrain Summer Quest 2026 and the completed Bahrain Summer Lite Quest 2026 are both organised by the Bahrain Basketball Association after being granted the rights to host each event by Fiba.
They are part of a busy period for 3x3 basketball in Bahrain.
The BBA also recently hosted two rounds of the Bahrain Summer Tour 2026, won by Team ATTB and Seef, respectively.
They will now spearhead a strong field in the tour’s third and final round, scheduled for August 7 at EWB.
The winners will book a spot in the Go Too! Group Aichi 2026 Challenger tournament in Japan, to be held on October 10 and 11.
The Aichi event acts as a qualifier for this year’s Manama Masters on November 20 and 21 – the kingdom’s top-tier tournament on the Fiba 3x3 World Tour 2026.
