The Youth Market at Youth City 2030, organised by the Youth Affairs Ministry in strategic partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), continues to consolidate its position as one of the most prominent initiatives supporting young entrepreneurs, by providing an interactive platform that embraces emerging Bahraini youth projects, and highlights national talents and innovations.
Youth City Authority board of directors chairperson Fatima Al Majid affirmed that the Youth Market represents one of the annual initiatives that gives Bahraini youth a space to showcase their projects and innovations, noting that the diversity of participating projects reflects the size of the energies and innovations that young people possess, and confirms their promising entrepreneurial capabilities.
She explained that the market is a starting point for many small projects, as a number of entrepreneurs are participating for the first time through this initiative, which encourages them to continue and expand their projects.
She indicated that Youth City 2030 plays an important role in supporting and marketing youth projects, in addition to hosting the Little Merchant Market dedicated to the age group from 5 to 17 years old, with the aim of instilling a culture of entrepreneurship and developing the spirit of initiative among young people from an early age.
‘Mariya’ project owner Dana Al Adawi confirmed that the youth market provides an annual opportunity to showcase Bahraini projects and communicate directly with the public, which helps project owners to identify customer needs and benefit from their opinions in developing products and improving services.
She said that participating in the market gives entrepreneurs space to test their ideas in a practical environment, and contributes to promoting the spread of their projects and reaching wider segments of consumers.
A number of participants and visitors pointed to the importance of expanding the space of the youth market during the next editions, which would allow for the accommodation of a larger number of emerging projects, and provide wider opportunities for the participation of entrepreneurs, in addition to strengthening partnerships with various entities that support promising projects.
