The Education Ministry has announced that it is fully prepared for the new academic year, with comprehensive plans in place to receive students at the beginning of September.
The preparations include the completion of registration for more than 10,000 new students, as well as the printing and distribution of more than two million textbooks to all public school students.
The ministry has also expanded provision for students with special educational needs by opening 15 new classrooms and completing their furnishing.
The ministry has completed the first phase of furnishing public schools with desks, chairs and modern office furniture, and has begun preparations for the second phase.
It has also put in place the necessary Bahraini teaching and administrative staff to ensure the continuity and stability of the academic year.
Each school has undergone two rounds of deep cleaning and organisation covering toilets, facilities, courtyards, sports grounds, classrooms, administrative offices and other school buildings and premises.
The ministry has also completed the necessary arrangements to provide high-quality school bus services, including transportation for students with special educational needs.
School buses have been equipped with alarm devices, surveillance cameras, safety and security systems, electronic screens to monitor routes, loudspeakers and safe-stop signs.
As for school buildings and facilities, the ministry has completed the replacement and maintenance of air conditioning units to ensure their efficiency. It has also completed essential and comprehensive maintenance work at schools in accordance with approved schedules.
The ministry has completed preparations for orientation days and for welcoming students and parents, as well as preparing and equipping food and meal outlets and canteens, at all schools.
