His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday met GCC Secretary General Jassem Al Budaiwi, and the heads of GCC delegations participating in the 38th Meeting of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Co-operation and Food Security, at Gudaibiya Palace.
HRH Prince Salman reiterated Bahrain’s continued commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, to supporting greater GCC co-operation across all sectors.
He highlighted the importance of strengthening integrated partnerships among GCC states to advance interstate development, in line with the visions of the leaders of the GCC member states.
The heads of delegations conveyed the greetings of leaders of the GCC states to the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
In turn, HRH Prince Salman extended the greetings of the King to the leaders of the GCC countries.
He outlined his support for the meetings and that they would play an important role and lead to enhanced GCC co-operation across agriculture and food security, in line with shared goals and aspirations.
He highlighted the importance of continuing to improve and strengthen food security by developing the efficiency of supply chains to ensure the sustainable flow of goods and products.
HRH Prince Salman noted he importance of Gulf integration and enhanced international partnerships towards these efforts and developing their readiness to address developments and challenges.
He also commended the role of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Co-operation and Food Security and its contributions to strengthening co-operation and joint co-ordination among GCC countries in the agricultural and food sectors.
For their part, the GCC Secretary General and the heads of GCC delegations participating in the meeting expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HRH Prince Salaman for his commitment to further advancing joint Gulf co-operation.
They wished Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak, Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad Al Malki, and senior officials were also in attendance.
Bahrain hosted the meeting as part of its presidency of the 46th Session of the Supreme Council of the GCC ‘Bahrain Summit’.
