The embassy said it was co-ordinating with British authorities and following the victim’s condition as he receives treatment in hospital.
It said it was providing the citizen with the necessary care and support and would continue monitoring his health until he is safely discharged.
The embassy added that it was following the circumstances of the stabbing with the relevant security authorities and stressed the need to complete the investigation swiftly, establish all the details surrounding the incident and hold those responsible accountable under the law.
