Bahrain has welcomed the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of several European countries and Canada on introducing restrictions on trade in goods with illegal Israeli settlements in the West
Bank and Gaza, in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 (2016).
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said settlement expansion undermines efforts to achieve the two-state solution in accordance with relevant resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The ministry stressed the importance of proceeding with the implementation of the peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the conflict in Gaza, advance recovery and reconstruction efforts, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to achieve security and stability in the Gaza Strip.
