An initiative that links digital technology and cybersecurity lessons to the world of aviation has been launched by a Bahraini Grade One teacher.
Introduced at Sitra Primary Boys School by educational technology specialist Bushra Mahmoud, the programme, titled ‘My Journey in the Technology World’, incorporates the concept of flying a plane to different educational ‘stations’, creating an experience that blends learning, fun and interaction while presenting key information and fundamentals in a simplified manner.
Ms Mahmoud said that the lessons begin with an introduction to the rules of boarding an aircraft before moving to the cockpit and command centre.
From there, students proceed to the stations covering smart boards, technology applications, cybersecurity concepts and safe technology use.
She noted that artificial intelligence (AI) was used to develop the educational scenario, facilitate brainstorming, and create activities, phrases and interactive content with visual elements that enhanced the appeal of the experience.
Students Ali Jaafar and Hussain Mohammed expressed their enjoyment and engagement with the lessons, adding that they felt as if they were embarking on a real flight where they learned important information in an enjoyable way.
This initiative is part of broader efforts by government schools to support the foundational learning of students in the first cycle (grades one to three) and to provide experiences suited to their age group, thereby paving the way for an educational journey that fosters greater awareness and engagement with future requirements.
