Two in custody after four-year-old
left on bus
Strict and mandatory procedures must be established and followed by both the bus driver and the attendant without exception or negligence. The safety of all children must be clearly defined responsibility of both individuals.
The attendant must count the children as they board the bus, then count them again when they get off and ensure that the numbers match. After all the children have exited, she must inspect each seat individually and then check the entire bus from front to back to ensure beyond doubt that no child remains inside. This procedure must be carried out on every trip without exception, even if the bus is equipped with sensors that detect the presence of a passenger in a seat. Such devices are only an aid and can never replace a thorough and direct human inspection.

The class teacher should post the daily attendance record in the respective class WhatsApp group during the first period itself, so that parents can confirm that their child is present in class.

Why the hell is this happening again? One incident should’ve been enough for them to check multiple times to make sure no one got left behind ever again!
@taani_1001
OMG. Nobody learned anything from that horrible incident and now it has happened again. These people seriously.
@_f_00ff
That is negligence.
@sky_shine254
A bus driver should check the whole bus.

This needs to stop.
@debsimasicus
The people responsible for these school buses should go inside and thoroughly check before the bus is locked and closed. This should be done every time, without exception.
Alternatively, school timings should be changed to 8am to 11.30am, so that children can get enough sleep and proper rest. Schools could also consider opening only three or four days a week if that would help protect children and reduce such risks.
No parent should ever have to go through the unimaginable pain of losing their child. Children’s safety must always come first.
