APM Terminals Bahrain, operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port, has welcomed its inaugural cohort of Bahraini students and fresh graduates under its newly launched MARSA Internship Programme.
The onboarding initiative at the company’s premises introduced participants to port operations, logistics frameworks, and career opportunities within Bahrain’s maritime ecosystem. Designed to nurture national talent, the MARSA programme provides hands-on workplace experience, professional skill development, and industry exposure to prepare young Bahrainis for the job market.
As part of their induction, interns completed a guided terminal tour to observe vessel and cargo operations first-hand, connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world port logistics. The cohort also engaged with the company’s executive leadership team during interactive Q&A sessions focused on career development and industry trends.
APM Terminals Bahrain managing director Matthew Luckhurst said: “Developing national talent requires more than academic knowledge; it requires practical experience, exposure across the business, and the chance to learn from experienced professionals. With MARSA, we are giving young Bahrainis a real platform to build their skills, confidence, and careers.”
