Zallaq’s old football pitch will remain earmarked for a new integrated youth centre, although it can continue to be used temporarily as an Eid prayer ground and for outdoor events until construction begins, councillors have been told.
The Youth Affairs Ministry has rejected a proposal by the Southern Municipal Council to permanently reallocate the site in Block 1056 as an Eid prayer ground, saying it forms part of a planned integrated youth facility .
