Healthcare professionals in Bahrain need more training on HIV prevention and transmission, according to a new study that found significant gaps in their knowledge of the virus, particularly regarding newer prevention methods.
The study, entitled ‘Knowledge and Perceptions of HIV Prevention and Transmission Among Healthcare Professionals in Bahrain’, found significant gaps in healthcare workers’ understanding of HIV, raising concerns that misconceptions about the virus could contribute to stigma and discrimination .
