HORSERACING – RASHID Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch this weekend of its Golden Jubilee season in 2026-27, running until April next year.
The new campaign features a stacked, action-packed schedule of 30 race meetings, to be headlined by the His Majesty the King’s Cup Festival on March 4 and 5 and the His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup Festival on January 28 and 29, both of which will feature prestigious Group Three races, and the Group One Bahrain International Trophy, which is scheduled for November 13 at REHC.
The 2026-27 calendar is supported by a developmental vision spearheaded by the REHC High Committee, spearheaded by Prime Minister’s Court Minister and REHC High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
This vision has driven a qualitative shift in the trajectory of Bahraini horseracing, elevating its technical and organisational standards and strengthening its presence both regionally and internationally, thereby cementing the kingdom’s status as a prominent destination for the highest levels of horseracing.
Other major races this season include five Listed races, including the HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup on February 2, the HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup on December 18, the Al Adiyat Cup on January 15, the Al Methaq Mile on March 5, and the Bahrain Gold Cup on April 16.
The hugely popular Bahrain Turf Series will also be returning with an expanded schedule, with the number of races increasing from 12 to 14 through the introduction of a dedicated mile division to go along with the middle-distance and sprint. The series will be staged across several rounds from December to March.
REHC’s Golden Jubilee marks 50 years since the club’s establishment in 1977. This historic milestone reflects a distinguished journey of achievement and progress, underpinned by a rich heritage and a clear vision that has shaped REHC’s development over the past five decades.
Fans attending the races at REHC can look forward to a series of events and entertainment activities being held off the turf, making for an exceptional atmosphere throughout the season.
These offerings are a plus for visitors coming from both within the kingdom and abroad, further establishing REHC as a premier sports, tourism, and entertainment destination.
With only days to go prior to the new campaign, REHC announced yesterday that tickets for the Golden Jubilee season are now on sale. The public can purchase tickets via the club’s official website or in person at the gates on race days.
A variety of ticket categories are available, offering diverse options for attendees to enjoy the races, hospitality areas, events, and accompanying activities – catering to the preferences of different audience segments.
