An Indian expat tragically collapsed and died during a badminton game with his colleagues in Dubai despite resuscitation efforts.
The incident marks the third sports-related death reported among Indian expats in the UAE this year.
The 52-year-old Keralite Ranjith Vijayan had worked as a general manager at a Dubai-based engineering and industrial solutions firm for the past 26 years.
A company spokesperson told Gulf News that the initial cause of death was cited as cardiac arrest.
The company is committed to supporting his family and repatriating his body.
He is survived by his wife, Rashmi, and his son, Rithvik, who is currently pursuing higher education in India.
