Bahrain’s municipal council chairmen have called for a nationwide review of town signs, saying inconsistent English and Arabic names are creating confusion and undermining the standards expected of official government signage.
The campaign, spearheaded by Muharraq Municipal Council chairman Abdulaziz Al Naar, focuses on signs for Hidd, Isa Town, Hamad Town and Salman Town, where the English and Arabic versions appear to have been mixed, raising concerns over accuracy and consistency .
