Kuwait has manufactured its first-ever batch of small-arms ammunition following the launch of production at the Naif Small Arms Ammunition Factory.
Defence Minister Shaikh Abdullah Ali Abdulla Al Salem Al Sabah attended a ceremony yesterday to mark the milestone at the facility.
The project represents one of Kuwait's most important strategic initiatives aimed at localising defence industries, according to Assistant Chief of General Staff for the Logistics and Supply Authority Major General Engineer Salah Al Azmi.
He added that the facility aims to establish a national industrial base capable of meeting military and security needs while strengthening self-sufficiency.
All manufacturing processes at the factory comply with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation requirements for small-arms ammunition.
