A FIVE-STEP digital approach using artificial intelligence (AI) could help diabetes patients in Bahrain better manage their condition between medical appointments, as the number of people living with the disease is projected to exceed 300,000 by 2050, a leading Bahraini doctor has said.
Endocrine and diabetes consultant Dr Hasan Frookh said one of the biggest challenges in tackling the rising prevalence of diabetes in the kingdom and the wider region was ensuring patients followed their treatment plans and maintained healthy lifestyles outside the doctor’s office .
